I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’ve never been to Hawaii. I know, for someone who loves to travel and be in the ocean as much as me it’s borderline insane that I have never explored the Hawaiian Islands. Well my dears, that is all about to change.
That’s right in a few short weeks we will be heading to the island of Kauai for about eight days of camping, surfing snorkeling and fun in the sun, not to mention lots of tasty local fare to sample.
Camping you say? Why yes. After much research (for us anyways) we decided that staying in a hotel both wasn’t for us and wasn’t the most cost effective way to go. After some back and forth and looking into places like AirB&B and local hostels we decided to camp! Turns out Hawaii has tons of camping and most of the sites we took a look at online in Kauai are beachfront. Now, we happen to love camping and spend a lot of our time, as some of you know, traveling that way, but it may be a stretch for some. I admit there were a few fleeting visions in my head of laying on a beach in a resort with all inclusive drinks, food and pools right there in one spot. While there was a part of me that longed for that, I know that I’m much more of an adventure seeker and would have way more fun exploring the island with a car and tent.
So it’s official! We’re heading to the beach and who knows we may never some back haha. More to come….
